Every horizon is a warning. My drawings imagine what is left after we are gone: flooded motorways, collapsed pylons, forests growing through the windows of abandoned towers. I start each piece with pen and ink because the medium forces a kind of commitment, there is no undo, and that pressure keeps the linework honest and a little unpredictable. Only after the drawing is finished do I bring it into the computer for colour, usually working in cold blues and rusted oranges that suggest both water damage and decay. I am drawn to these landscapes not because I think collapse is inevitable, but because drawing them makes the present feel more fragile and worth protecting. Illustration lets me build entire worlds from a single page, and dystopia, for me, is really just a way of asking what we are willing to lose.
